People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet they pass by themselves without wondering.

Jumping Jack Flash!

Oh my goodness! What do you get when you combine a handful of teenagers, throw in a few kids, balls, a few crazy adults and about a billion tramps! Only about the funnest thing I have done in a long time.

I truly am tempted not to mention where we went for fear of too many more people knowing about this obscure little place. There are about 50 trampolines and way too many people running, jumping, throwing things and in general laughing - I can't believe a bunch of way to old and a few not too old kids could have so much fun.

We jumped, ran, played tag (using a soft football), laughed, jumped and ran some more. I think when we are in an environment like this - our brains turn off. My son (who I might add -is only 6 inches taller than I am) actually tackled me and took me down - I can't remember the last time I laughed harder. I guess it is easy to be brave and take on your mom when you are surrounded by a bunch of crazy's all jumping and laughing and just having good clean ....fun!!! We had so much fun chasing each other around - trying to figure who was it - never quite sure if that ball hit you and made you it! At least one of us enjoyed it so much - they split their pants wide open (I will be honest and confess - it wasn't me!) We were just glad for good friends who didn't laugh or make fun they just lent a jacket so we could hide the evidence!

I am so blessed with good friends and AWESOME kids. I truly enjoy every moment I am blessed to spend with them. We may not have it all together - - but together we have it all!

P.S. - Before starting to jump - make sure you visit the little girls or boys room! Wetting your pants can put a damper on your outing! :)

musings on Valentines

Is Valentines just a ploy for people to spend money - or truly a needed reminder from the one we love?

It is amazing the differences in people - there are so many differences! Some need gifts, some need hugs, some need praise, some need interaction, some need solitude - - and the list goes on.

Growing up I thought the gift you got would demonstrate the depth of love one has for you. The gift was what was important - not the giving. Early in my married life I had great expectations for the wonderful gifts that would be bestowed on me - on birthday's, holidays, anniversaries, ..... but I truly am happy to say that the gifts truly don't matter to me. My sweetheart - bless his sweet-heart! isn't a "giving-tangible expected" gifts kind of guy. I realize whether or not he meant to - he taught me the true meaning of gifts. I have always loved to give gifts - I always try to put thought into what I was giving - - but I can honestly say some of the best gifts I have ever been given are the gifts of time and personal interaction. Not only from him, but others as well!

I wish I could say I have taught my children this lesson - but alas I know I have a long way to go. Tonight four of us girls were treated to dinner and movie by my Valentine! What a surprise - was I thrilled about the movie we went to - not really. Not necessarily my first choice - but it was the thought and time and effort he put into spending time with us. He initiated it - he planned it - he made us feel important! That is truly the key to giving. Making the receiver know of their importance! How truly blessed I am to have this Valentines day - been given the gift of knowing I am truly important to someone else!

I hope everyone has that ability to know that on this day -Valentines day - above all others....that someone somewhere is thinking of them! Sometimes we don't always do the best in showing it - But I truly hope everyone - has had someone think and make them feel special this day! Happy Valentines Day!

Confessions

Rules to abide by when dealing with Mimi. ( I am adding this disclaimer - after this original post date - Mimi did not write this post - - it was written by 3 adorable teenagers whom I will not mention - and the false or truth to these are for Mimi to know and the readers to find out!! Good Luck!! Mimi)

1. Never ask me to fill your drink. I will spit in it.

2. If you want to be amused call me at night after I've taken my sleeping pill.

3. The secret to pacifying me is to rub lotion on my elbows.

4. I have a private obsession with buttons- these work great when you need to bribe me.

5. When purchasing a gift for me I don't care what it is as long as it contains the color purple.
